Alykat Charter Boat Hire and Services, Minehead, Somerset

Here at “AlyKat” charters, we operate angling trips the whole year round. Situated in MineheadHarbour at the foot of the glorious ExmoorNational Park, we are easy to access from the M5 exiting at junction 24. Our catches vary depending on the time of year, but fish are available to be caught at any time.

In the winter, we target species such as cod and whiting, with a fair number of other visitors such as spurdog and ling making frequent appearances.

The spring of the year heralds the start of the ray migration. Thornbacks, small-eyeds, blondes, spotteds and the occasional cuckoo can all be taken. As the summer progresses we tend to venture further afield. LundyIsland lying 47miles out in the Western Approaches to the Channel is a favourite haunt. Closer to home, an abundance of different species are available such as huss, conger, tope pollack and bass to name but a few.

With autumn upon us, we will be framing our attentions on the bass and general ground fishing available. Again, variety is immense, but with the appearance of semi tropical species such as trigger fish, it will be time to break out the ultra light gear and head for our favourite inshore reefs.

So there you have it, a charter port that is easy to reach and one of the best equipped charter boats in the U.K.operated by Dave Roberts with over 30 years experience to take you to some of the finest fishing available! What more can you ask?
