The steps are at the mouth of the dock entrance on the Hartlepool headland and are sheltered in all but the most severest of weather

Recommended Baits:
Crabs, ragworm, black lug, mackerel, squid
Directions : Take the main lower road (North Gate) onto the headland past the Friarage tackle shop and turn right to go around the back of the fish quay site towards the main quay entrance. Park on a small area of paving to the left of the main gates or at the side of the road
Season : Summer for eels, flounder, blennies, whiting, pouting, August to October for mackerel, winter for codling and whiting
