Make Rovex fixed-spool
Model Nitrium NI 3000
Line capacity 200m of 10lb
Bob Poole tried his hand at catching whiting with the Rovex Nitrium NI 3000 fixed-spool reel and liked what he saw
“I use fixed-spool reels all the time when freshwater fishing,” he said, “so this wasn’t a new challenge for me. I found the reel more than adequate when inshore fishing for smallish fish, landing several reasonable whiting with no problems.
“Its fast retrieve made bait changing a quick operation, getting me back among the feeding fish. I liked the free spool bait feeder feature, which allows for the terminal gear to be lowered without having to release the bale-arm. On other models this can be a pain, especially if you are fishing sink-and-draw tactics.
“The build of the reel is good with a lightweight graphite body, aluminium spool, three ball bearings, stainless steel shaft and brass pinion gear. I will be looking for one of these because it will come in handy for my freshwater fishing as well as my light sea stuff.”
